Volleyball Recap: Antioch Takes a Loss

Antioch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Deer Valley Wolverines, falling 3-0. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Antioch was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12, 25-13.

Deer Valley can attribute much of their success to Rylan Cristobal, who had four aces and three digs.

Antioch's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Deer Valley, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Antioch and Deer Valley will both be playing Heritage the next time they take the court. Deer Valley will host Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Antioch will host them at 6:30 p.m. on April 3.
