Softball Recap: Beaverton Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Beaverton barely beat Clackamas the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Beavers blew past the Cavaliers 8-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Beavers have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Gracie Burnett, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Kennedy Riedel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Burnett wasn't the only one making solid contact: Beaverton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive matches.

Beaverton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Clackamas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Beaverton and Clackamas will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Beavers will take on rival Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clackamas is set to challenge their familiar foe Gresham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
