Volleyball Recap: Oak Ridge Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Riley Dube and Guen Blackburn

After flying high against Conroe on Friday, Oak Ridge came back down to earth. The War Eagles fell 3-1 to the Klein Cain Hurricanes on Tuesday. The War Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hurricanes earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Oak Ridge was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Klein Cain work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Despite the defeat, Oak Ridge had strong showings from Guen Blackburn, who had eight assists and seven digs, and Riley Dube, who had four digs.

Among those leading the charge was Morgan Thompson, who had 26 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game. Trenidee Hines also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
