Basketball Game Preview: New West Charter Eagles vs. Orthopaedic Vipers

The New West Charter Eagles will take on the Orthopaedic Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as New West Charter comes in on four and Orthopaedic on 14.

New West Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They snuck past Horace Mann UCLA Community with a 51-46 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

It was another big night for Liam Hakimi, who went 9-for-19 en route to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The game was his eighth in a row with at least 17 points. Yohan Kamgaing was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, Orthopaedic posted their closest win since January 22nd on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over East Valley.

Orthopaedic pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points over those games. As for New West Charter, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
