Softball Recap: Colleton Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Colleton Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers. One positive for the War Hawks, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Ava Murray made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Crosby, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Murray wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Colleton Prep Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Colleton Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Calhoun Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Colleton Prep Academy will face off against Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Calhoun Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thomas Sumter Academy at 5:30 p.m. on March 18th.
