Fuquay - Varina has gone 9-1 against Apex recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bengals will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Fuquay - Varina is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They were beaten by Middle Creek 37-7 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bengals have suffered against the Mustangs since October 14, 2016.

Meanwhile, Apex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 25-10 bruising from Cary on Saturday.
