Baseball Game Preview: Gorton Wolves vs. Hamilton Raiders

The Gorton Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Hamilton Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gorton hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Gorton's offense. They came up short against Sleepy Hollow on Wednesday, falling 13-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Gorton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julius Vargas, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Vargas' first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Hamilton sidestepped Poughkeepsie for a 2-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Gorton now has a losing record of 4-5-2. As for Hamilton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything went Gorton's way against Hamilton when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Gorton made off with a 15-4 victory. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
