Recap: West Aurora Blackhawks vs. Oswego East Wolves

The West Aurora Blackhawks were the 68-59 winner over the Oswego East Wolves when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. West Aurora was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 44-43 to Oswego East.

Despite the loss, West Aurora still got an impressive performance from Shiane Johnson, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Syncere Williams, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.

West Aurora bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oswego East, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Aurora will take on Plainfield North at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Plainfield North presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Aurora in Illinois (Plainfield North is ranked 229th, while West Aurora is ranked 465th). As for Oswego East, they will head out on the road to face off against Yorkville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Yorkville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Oswego East likes a good challenge.
