Baseball Recap: Wellington Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Wellington came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Rose Hill Rockets as they made off with a 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Wellington pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Rose Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellington will venture away from home to challenge Belle Plaine on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for Rose Hill, they will head out to take on Haysville Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
