Sharyland and Pioneer are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Rattlers will be playing at home against the Diamondbacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Sharyland put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They strolled past Roma with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rattlers.

Calvin Harris had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 136 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, while also throwing for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Sharyland's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Kevin Alaniz was another key player, rushing for 135 yards and one score on only 14 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sharyland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Pioneer was able to grind out a solid win over Roma last Friday, taking the game 35-28.
Pioneer's win came from a few key players Sharyland will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Malakai Galindo, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD, and also threw for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Those 70 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aythan Calacuayo, who picked up 97 receiving yards and one score.
Sharyland's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Pioneer, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Sharyland came up short against Pioneer in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 33-27. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Diamondbacks' William Goodloe, who rushed for 202 yards and one TD while picking up 12.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes.
