Pontotoc faced Itawamba Agricultural in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Pontotoc fell just short of Itawamba Agricultural by a score of 6-4. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Olivia Galloway put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Madi Collums was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Emarie Boddie was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
