Basketball Recap: Archer City Extends Winning Streak to Three

Archer City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Midway Falcons as they made off with a 36-14 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-22 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archer City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Schroeder, who posted two points in addition to ten boards and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Schroeder a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Canada, who had nine points and seven steals.

Archer City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Archer City's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Midway, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Archer City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-38 loss against Guthrie on the 28th. As for Midway, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Midway Falcons challenge the Bellevue Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
