Basketball Game Preview: North Andrew Cardinals vs. Rock Port Blue Jays

The North Andrew Cardinals will challenge the Rock Port Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when North Andrew took on St. Joseph Christian on Friday. North Andrew took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph Christian.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Port). They put the hurt on East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] with a sharp 81-60 win on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Blue Jays as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Rock Port found their leader in sophomore Jack Meyerkorth, who went 11-for-19 en route to 29 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. That's the most steals Meyerkorth has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Ellis, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 18 points.

Rock Port smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Rock Port's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for North Andrew, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.
