Trevor Jones and Alani Pututau provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Richfield. The connection was good for 66 yards, the longest such play in 2A - South this season.
San Juan suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after besting Enterprise. The Broncos had been ranked 25th, but fell to 26.
Kasen Hutchings and Jesse McMullin gave Beaver a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Hutchings threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while McMullin ran for 86 yards. Teammate Logan Lozano added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.
Tyler Terry made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Beavers defeated Grand County. The senior grabbed 1.5 sacks.
Pututau was the best wideout in the league this week as South Sevier lost to the Wildcats. Pututau racked up four receptions for 112 yards. Patrick Baker helped South Sevier's passing attack out by catching six balls for 90 yards.
The Rams' Jones and Pututau have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jones has thrown for 1047 yards this season, while Pututau has 24 catches for 400 yards. Joseph Holt from the Wolves leads the league in rushing with 836 yards.
San Juan extended the longest winning streak in 2A - South this week by beating Enterprise, 48-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
