Softball Recap: McGregor Takes a Loss

McGregor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Cromwell Cardinals, falling 18-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mercuries of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Izzy Cook made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Hazel Guida also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

McGregor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cromwell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

McGregor has already played their next match, an 11-8 victory against Cook County on the 24th. Cromwell has also already played their next contest (against Floodwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
