Soccer Game Preview: Kempsville vs. Ocean Lakes

Kempsville is 1-8 against Ocean Lakes since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chiefs will head out to face off against the Dolphins at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kempsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They skirted past Hickory 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Kempsville.

Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Cavaliers. Considering Ocean Lakes have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ocean Lakes' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matchups. As for Kempsville, their win bumped their record up to 13-3-1.

Kempsville beat Ocean Lakes 3-1 in their previous matchup on May 6th. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Dolphins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
