There's no place like home for Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers, posting a 47-14 win. Given the Corsairs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 343rd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carmel pushed their record up to 14-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for Joliet Catholic, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-23.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel will host Marian Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Joliet Catholic, they will face off against Providence Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
