Baseball Recap: Council Rock South Victorious

Council Rock South won the last time they faced Harry S. Truman and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Golden Hawks walked away with a 6-1 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Hawks.

Jimmy Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Johnny Mendola was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Zak Abt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The victory got Council Rock South back to even at 9-9. As for Harry S. Truman, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17.

Council Rock South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
