Baseball Recap: Sumner Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Atchison, Sumner Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Washington Wildcats 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Sabres: when they faced off against the Wildcats on April 3rd, they had to take a 7-1 loss.

Sumner Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle McClish, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave McClish a new career-high.

Sumner Academy moved to 2-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Washington, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Sumner Academy and Washington will both be playing Harmon the next time they take the field. The Sabres will head out to face the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
