Volleyball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Rigby Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-10, 25-18.

Arianna Williams paced Highland's offense, picking up six kills. Williams got some help from Jaycie Homer and her nine assists. Finally, Bella Mickelsen kept Highland's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading Rigby to victory were Breleigh Youngstrom and Allie Dansie. Youngstrom had 11 digs and two aces, while Dansie had five digs. That's the most aces Youngstrom has posted over her last 12 contests.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Rigby, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season.

Highland will take on Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rigby, they will face off against Canyon Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
