Softball Recap: Prestonsburg Comes Up Short

Prestonsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pike County Central Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blackcats of the 13-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Hailey Cline made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Rachael Roberts was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Prestonsburg now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pike County Central, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prestonsburg will welcome Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pike County Central, they will be playing at home against Betsy Layne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
