Baseball Recap: Chilton County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marbury, Chilton County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Gibson County Pioneers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Chilton County got a great performance from Logan Coppedge as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Coppedge has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Garrett Lawley was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

Chilton County now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Gibson County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Chilton County Tigers challenge Har-Ber Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gibson County, they will challenge Ariton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
