Softball Recap: Barnstable Red Hawks vs. Carver Crusaders

Barnstable had lost seven straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-15 to make it eight. They lost 17-7 to the Carver Crusaders. The Red Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Jordyn Green was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Dempsey Peterson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

As for Carver, their win bumped their record up to 5-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Carver's side, the team relied heavily on Gianna Chandler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Chandler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Regina Silva, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.

Barnstable wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-2 defeat against Dartmouth on the 19th. As for Carver, they have also already played their next game, an 18-13 loss against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on the 19th.
