Softball Recap: Athens' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Athens fell victim to Wellston and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Rockets. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Athens' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Wellston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will welcome Alexander at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wellston, they will host Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
