Basketball Game Preview: Stuarts Draft Cougars vs. Central Woodstock Falcons

The Stuarts Draft Cougars and the Central Woodstock Falcons will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Stuarts Draft took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Fort Defiance with points to spare, taking the game 65-49. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Indians are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central Woodstock waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 62-21 victory over the Generals. 62 seems to be a good number for the Falcons as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Stuarts Draft pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Central Woodstock, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Stuarts Draft strolled past Central Woodstock in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 67-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stuarts Draft since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
