Preview: Arcanum Trojans vs. Twin Valley South Panthers
Arcanum is 9-0 against Twin Valley South since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Arcanum Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Twin Valley South Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Arcanum is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Twin Valley South in Ohio (Arcanum is ranked 249th, while Twin Valley South is ranked 787th).
Last Monday, Arcanum beat Madison 53-44. The win was just what Arcanum needed coming off of a 80-49 loss in their prior contest.
Arcanum got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexis Gibbons out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Anderson, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Twin Valley South, who are still winless after their 15th match. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-County North. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Twin Valley South in their matchups with Tri-County North: they've now lost five in a row.
Arcanum's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Twin Valley South, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their 18th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Arcanum against Twin Valley South in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 63-19 win. With Arcanum ahead 40-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
