Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. Kenwood

The Springfield Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to square off against the Kenwood Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Springfield fell victim to Kirkwood and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Cobras.

Meanwhile, Kenwood's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Northwest 2-1. That's two games straight that Kenwood have won by just one goal.

Tumaini Murokore and Kyle Hunter scored both of Kenwood's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kenwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Springfield was able to grind out a solid win over Kenwood in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
