It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Greenfield Bruins ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 victory over North Salinas. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Greenfield has posted against North Salinas since December 28, 2016.
Despite the defeat, North Salinas saw an underclassman step up: Angel Lizaola scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lizaola has scored all season. Another player making a difference was David Jauregui, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Greenfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for North Salinas, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Greenfield will be playing at home against Rancho San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rancho San Juan is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for North Salinas, they will head out on the road to take on Pajaro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
