Guntersville is 3-0 against Grissom since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Guntersville Wildcats duke it out with the Grissom Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Guntersville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Guntersville is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Plainview on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Guntersville was outmatched by Plainview and fell 59-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Bears are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Grissom's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 71-30 loss at the hands of Albertville.

Grissom's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Guntersville, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Everything came up roses for Guntersville against Grissom in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, as the squad secured a 68-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Guntersville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
