Football Recap: Lane Tech Starts off Right with Win over Shepard + How To Watch

Lane Tech had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Shepard Astros 37-19.

Vernon Cole went supernova, rushing for 274 yards and four scores while picking up 15.2 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

Lane Tech's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Jacob Braun refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Shepard's side was Aiden Boywid, who forced two fumbles and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Coming up, Lane Tech will take on Thornton Fractional South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shepard, they will square off against Hammond Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
