Recap: Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers vs. Cheney RVT Beavers
The Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Cheney RVT Beavers on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dam'nic Gittens had an outrageously good game for Cheney RVT as he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 19 rebounds. The matchup was Gittens' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ayden Brookins, who scored 12 points.
Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cheney RVT, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Prince RVT at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Cheney RVT will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Kolbe-Cathedral at 5:00 p.m. on December 30th.
