Basketball Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

Stanton was the 79-70 winner over West Nassau when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Stanton Blue Devils came up short against the West Nassau Warriors on Wednesday, falling 72-49. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly 23 points.

West Nassau found their leader in freshman Braydon Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jakari Major, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Stanton's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for West Nassau, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Stanton has already played their next contest (against Parker), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Nassau will host Parsons Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Nassau is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
