Softball Recap: Pathfinder RVT Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pathfinder RVT). They put the hurt on Springfield Renaissance with a sharp 20-0 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Bella Nompleggi was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Carly Juda also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pathfinder RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Pathfinder RVT's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.1 runs over those games. As for Springfield Renaissance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Pathfinder RVT will host Putnam Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers are facing the Beavers at the right time seeing as the Beavers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Springfield Renaissance has already played their next matchup (against Smith Vo-Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
