Baseball Game Preview: Hilbert Wolves vs. Roncalli Jets

The Hilbert Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Roncalli Jets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Hilbert nor Roncalli posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hilbert's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-0 to Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Resorters: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Roncalli came up short against Valders on Thursday and fell 4-1.

Roncalli saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Hillmer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Roncalli's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hilbert has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roncalli struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
