Basketball Game Preview: Panama Panthers vs. Falconer Golden Falcons

Panama is a perfect 5-0 against Falconer since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panama Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Falconer Golden Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Panama knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Falconer likes a good challenge.

Panama is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Sherman: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Panama blew Sherman out of the water with a 75-40 final score. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Carter Brink continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 23 points along with six assists and six steals. His evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Jordan Mescall was another key player, scoring 14 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Falconer hadn't done well against Salamanca recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Falconer came out on top against Salamanca by a score of 62-54. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Golden Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Warriors are ranked 109th).

Panama pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.4 points. As for Falconer, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Panama took their win against Falconer in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 60-36. Does Panama have another victory up their sleeve, or will Falconer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
