Baseball Game Preview: Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs vs. Solon Comets

The Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs will take on the Solon Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stow-Munroe Falls' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Hubbard. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

The result came thanks to Mason Stewart's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Stow-Munroe Falls is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Caden Boyd was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Solon nor Elyria made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Comets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pioneers, sneaking past 4-2. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Stow-Munroe Falls moved to 10-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Solon, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Stow-Munroe Falls was able to grind out a solid victory over Solon in their previous matchup back in April, winning 4-0. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
