Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View lost against Los Gatos back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brennan Dooley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zander Yocum was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Christian Bandy, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Mountain View's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Los Gatos, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Mountain View by a score of 9-3 on Friday.
