League recap: Silva breaks off league-leading run for Fowler

West Sequoia recap Oct. 23, 2012

Fowler's James Silva rumbled for the longest rushing play in West Sequoia this season in his game against Minarets last week. Silva ran for 97 yards on the play and finished with 141 on the day as his team topped the Mustangs.

Caruthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Riverdale.

Fowler's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Redcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Silva has thrown for 1030 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Mike Cerrillo has 24 catches for 250 yards. Hugo Martinez leads the league in rushing with 675 yards.

A big matchup in West Sequoia this week will be when the Cowboys take on Fowler. Riverdale is in fifth place, while Steve Nelson's team is in first place.
