Soccer Game Preview: Tonasket vs. Soap Lake

The Tonasket Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Soap Lake Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Tonasket put up the most goals they have all season on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bridgeport a 7-0 shutout. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Soap Lake made easy work of Entiat on Tuesday and carried off a 6-2 win.

The victory made it two in a row for Tonasket and bumps their season record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Soap Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5-1.

Tonasket got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Soap Lake by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
