Baseball Game Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Westlake Thunder

For the second straight game, Farmington will face off against Westlake. The Phoenix will be playing at home against the Thunder at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Farmington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Westlake. The victory was some much needed relief for the Phoenix as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Gage Farr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Max Pearson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Lincoln Westlund was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Farmington's win bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Westlake, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-21.
