Proviso East had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Chicago Marshall Commandos with a sharp  45-23 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Proviso East to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Camiya Marshall, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 11  points and nine  steals. What's more,  Marshall also racked up three  assists, the most she's  had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was  Nariyah Head, who  posted seven points along with nine  boards and seven  steals.
 Proviso East  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 13  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive boards in 12 consecutive  games.
 Despite the  loss, Chicago Marshall had strong showings from  Charmarre Scott, who  dropped  a double-double on 11  points and 14  rebounds, and  Anabel Robinson, who  put up three points and eight  boards. Scott is  on a roll when it comes to  rebounds, as she's  now  pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's  played.
Proviso East is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record  this season. As for Chicago Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
 Proviso East will take on Crane Medical at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Crane Medical has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Chicago Marshall, they will face off against Curie at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The timing isn't great for Curie: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Chicago Marshall has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
