Basketball Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Palmetto Christian Academy managed to keep up with Northwood Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Palmetto Christian Academy lost 70-44 to the Northwood Academy Chargers. Palmetto Christian Academy hasn't had much luck with Northwood Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Northwood Academy found their leader in sophomore Maliyah Birch, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for Birch. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyvia Tocco, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Palmetto Christian Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-4. As for Northwood Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Palmetto Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-22 win against Cathedral Academy on the 20th. As for Northwood Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-43 defeat against Ashley Ridge on the 16th.
