Baseball Recap: MMI Preparatory School Has No Trouble Against Tunkhannock

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holy Redeemer, MMI Preparatory School was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Tunkhannock Tigers with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering MMI Preparatory School has won three contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joshua Witner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Witner was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Witner wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Skuba, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Skuba has become a key player for MMI Preparatory School: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another was Bryce Radzwich, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

MMI Preparatory School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

MMI Preparatory School now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Tunkhannock, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, MMI Preparatory School will venture away from home to face off against Wyoming Area at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tunkhannock, they will host Northwest Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
