Mountain View and Milpitas are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Spartans will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Mountain View's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Milpitas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mountain View easily dispatched Gunn on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Spartans fell just short of Los Altos by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Spartans have suffered since March 27th.

Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtenay Nappo, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Milpitas fell victim to Capuchino and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 15-0. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mountain View has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Milpitas, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Milpitas' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Milpitas, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Mountain View keep running through batters, or will the Trojans buck the trend?

Mountain View beat Milpitas 5-2 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
