Basketball Game Preview: Forest Hills Yellow Jackets vs. West Stanly Colts

The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to square off against the West Stanly Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Forest Hills is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since December 17, 2024 on Friday. They blew past Piedmont, posting a 67-36 victory.

Meanwhile, West Stanly hadn't done well against Monroe recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. West Stanly pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over Monroe. The win was all the more spectacular given the Colts' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Redhawks are ranked 162nd).

Forest Hills' victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for West Stanly, they have also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Forest Hills skirted past West Stanly 65-62 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forest Hills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
