Football Game Recap: Cromwell/Portland Panthers vs. Granby Memorial/Canton Bears

After flying high against the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars last Friday, The Cromwell/Portland Panthers came back down to earth. Cromwell/Portland took a 22-6 bruising from Granby Memorial/Canton on Friday. It was the first time this season that Cromwell/Portland let down their fans at home.

It was another big night for Will Attianese, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.

Cromwell/Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Granby Memorial/Canton, their victory was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.

Cromwell/Portland will challenge Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray on Saturday. As for Granby Memorial/Canton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
