Football Recap: Vero Beach Starts Season with Win Against Eau Gallie

Vero Beach took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 41-31 victory over the Eau Gallie Commodores. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 29-27 win the Commodores walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Efrem White was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 84 yards and two TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 74 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jonathan Hillsman was in the mix as well, providing Vero Beach with two scores.

Coming up, Vero Beach will challenge Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eau Gallie, they will face off against Rockledge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
