Baseball Recap: Riverfield Academy Victorious

Tri-County Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Riverfield Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Rebels. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Rebels on Friday, they had to take a 11-6 defeat.

Eli Corley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Layton Hough, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Cade Zeigler, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Riverfield Academy's record is now 7-5. As for Tri-County Academy, they moved to 22-4 with that loss, which also ended their 20-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Riverfield Academy nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
