Football Game Preview: Laredo LBJ Wolves vs. Medina Valley Panthers

Two dominant signal callers in Vicente Robles and Xavier Gonzalez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Laredo LBJ Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Medina Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laredo LBJ is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Laredo LBJ will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Del Rio, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolves walked away with a 28-21 win over the Rams on Thursday. 28 seems to be a good number for the Wolves as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Medina Valley earned a 47-38 win over Eagle Pass on Friday. The Panthers have beaten the Eagles the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

The critical scores for Medina Valley came from Gonzalez, Easton Lange, Dezerin Wright, Joseph Haby, Raymond Rodriguez, Connor Crisp, and Matthew Philpott.

Medina Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 238 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Medina Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Laredo LBJ, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Laredo LBJ couldn't quite finish off Medina Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 16-14. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
