Softball Preview: Plattsburg Tigers vs. Mid-Buchanan Dragons        
        
		
             The Plattsburg Tigers will head out to  face off against the Mid-Buchanan Dragons  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Plattsburg will head into Tuesday's  matchup on the come-up: they were handed a seven-run  defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Gallatin on Tuesday. Plattsburg narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Gallatin  7-5.
 Meanwhile, Mid-Buchanan came tearing into  Monday's  contest with six straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by  a  12-6 margin over the Fighting Irish. Considering the Dragons have won six matches by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Dru Pearson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Pearson was even better at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 In other pitching news,  Ellason Lisenbee looked comfortable as she  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched.
 Back at the plate,  Sophia Smith was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI, and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lindy Eaton, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-5.
 Plattsburg's record now sits at 4-2. As for Mid-Buchanan, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Plattsburg came up short against Mid-Buchanan when the teams last played  back in September of 2023, falling  7-2. Can Plattsburg avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
